3 Biggest Makeup Myths

I honestly don’t believe that anyone is really “bad” at makeup. I also don’t need that anyone “needs” makeup. What I do believe is that you need to have the right philosophy to avoid having bad makeup. Whenever I see someone who can’t do makeup, I realize that they generally follow certain beliefs that make makeup useless.

#1: Makeup Hides

You can’t really hide anything with makeup. I always see people boast that makeup is so powerful that it can disguise everything on your face but that’s usually just for pictures and bathroom mirrors. In real life, light will fall on your face and reveal that unsightly bump you’re trying to hide. This is not to say that your scars and facial flaws cannot be alleviated with the help of a good foundation or concealer, but nothing is actually hidden.

Once makeup becomes about hiding the parts of your face that you do not like, you become addicted to piling it on and on especially on your worst days. This just leads to a masked, cake-face. Try to think of seeking instead of hiding. You want to lead people’s eyes to the best parts of your face (and I know there are many).

Makeup is really like a neon arrow saying “hey look here!” rather than a bandaid covering up a blemish. Lip colors that suit you, highlighter and eyeliner are used to bring eyes to the parts of your face that you favor. Applying makeup with this mindset always makes you happier in the morning, too, so you’re focusing on your good parts and not the things you resent about your (probably perfect) face.

#2: Some People Need Makeup

I really hate this one. There are always people who are going to hate others for wearing makeup and they always claim that some people are just plain ugly without makeup. Refer to Myth #1. Without makeup, no one is going to suddenly have a haggard face. Most people just look tired or younger without makeup. I’ve never seen anyone that’s transformed into another person.

Even with contour, the face you were given at birth is pretty much the face that you will reveal to the world every day. You only know yourself through pictures and the bathroom mirror in certain lighting, so maybe you are actually shocked when you take of your Kardashian contour – but they human eye is often more clever. No one is going to think you are hideous without makeup. They might ask if you’re sleepier, but sleepy is cute. Have you ever seen a sleeping puppy or kitten? Totally adorbs! Don’t worry about it.

#3: Wearing Makeup Means You’re Vain

Let’s be honest. Almost everyone is concerned to a degree about thier appearance. It is not really wise to say that just because someone is intervening with what nature gave them is actually more concerned or vain. I think most people who wear makeup actually find application fun and colors interesting.

It’s horrible to assume that just because someone wears a crop top it means that they think they have the worst body ever and they are self-conscious, right? It’s like that with makeup. Just because someone wears makeup to show off the parts of their face they like or to experiment it doesn’t mean they are robots that are obsessed with physical appearance. It just means that they, um, like makeup. That’s all!

Why Candy Club is the best thing ever

When something comes in at the perfect time, you have to praise it and that’s what I did when a box of sweets from Candy Club arrived at my doorstep. When college gets stressful it’s ok to turn to a little candy to brighten the gloomiest of test days.

These people are the candy experts. I’m from the Cape and I thought I’ve tasted the best homemade taffy possible, but the cotton candy taffy I got in my box was more addicting than anything I’ve ever tasted before. It’s probably a very good thing it was the smallest part of my box.

The jelly beans were very good, and always the blue one was my favorite.

My feelings on the sour strips (sour belts) and the gummy butterflies were split. They were both good in their own way, but they lost their appeal after a while.

This box is great, and if you join their mailing list you can get a great deal for some specialty candy. Also it’s delivered to your door and nothing can get better than that.

Love’s a game, wanna play?: How to get Through A Breakup Through Taylor Swift 1989 Lyrics

So I got dumped, hard core and I had no idea how to deal with it.  To be honest this is the first real breakup I went though, yes I’ve been dumped before and been the dumper but none of those previous relationships led me to crying and ending up going to bed at 8:30 on a Friday night.  I was thinking about doing the typical right after watch movies and eat chocolate post but that just isn’t me (not that I didn’t binge watch netflix).  I think the best way to get through a break up is to have a little humor with it because you may feel like your life is over but it’s really not in some cases it could just be the beginning.

Blank Space

So it’s gonna be forever
Or it’s gonna go down in flames
You can tell me when it’s over
If the high was worth the pain

‘Cause we’re young and we’re reckless
We’ll take this way too far
It’ll leave you breathless
Or with a nasty scar

This song pretty much describes any passionate relationship.  You are either going to be together forever and be that old couple who still have sex multiple times a week or your relationship is going to crash and burn.  But sometimes the burn is worth the time and effort you put into the relationship because it can help you in future relationships.  With these relationships you will either find yourself telling your girlfriends about the wild love you had for years or it being too painful to ever mention.  If this was the breakup you experienced focus on the positive and don’t let the fire give you too much thought.

Style

Could end in burning flames or paradise
Fade into view, oh, it’s been a while since I have even heard from you (heard from you)

I say, “I heard, oh, that you been out and about with some other girl, some other girl.”
He says, “What you’ve heard is true but I Can’t stop thinking about you,” and
I…I said, “I’ve been there too a few times.”

These lyrics are there for anyone who has ever been cheated on.  In this song Taylor describes him as a James Dean character, a boy that ever goes out of style aka all the girls want him.  No one deserves to be cheated on and no one should let it happen.  Stand up for yourself and get out of the relationship because if they’re going to cheat on you now it’s not worth the risk of them cheating on you when you have 2.5 kids and a mortgage. For this break up forget about it.   The good times you shared as a couple might lead you to go back, focus on yourself and find yourself someone you loves you too much to be afraid to hurt you.

Welcome to New York

Everybody here wanted something more
Searching for a sound we hadn’t heard before

Like any great love, it keeps you guessing
Like any real love, it’s ever-changing
Like any true love, it drives you crazy

But you know you wouldn’t change anything, anything, anything
Can an artist please make a song about Boston? Anyways this song is all about love being something that sound be wonderful and make you feel empowered.  Maybe its my little obsession with gossip girl but there is some power that comes along with walking down the streets of New York (it could be just because I was 12 and the Jay-z song about NYC was just released.  Love should be something that keeps you wondering and wanting to know more about the person.  And it should also drive you crazy (not mad, crazy). Be crazy in love and have wild adventures.  These lyrics are to inspire you to have a love that keeps you excited.  It also helps to get over a bad relationship because something better will be out there, just find the right person to open yourself up to.

3 Autumn Colors That Will Make You Best Dressed All Season

Most people say that summer is there favorite season but my favorite season is fall.  Fashion changes on a daily basis and trying to keep up is near to impossible.

1. Cobalt Blue

The thing about lace is it lasts all four seasons.  I have always loved blue the thing about blue is it always looks best with a white top.  That’s why everyone wears a white shirt when they get there senior photos done at the beach.

The thing about wearing dresses in the fall or winter is wear tights.  When there’s snow on the ground and your walking into school with bare legs it just doesn’t make any sense.  Also you will be freezing all day, trust me take the advice.

2. Maroon

Now to Maroon my favorite fall color.  The reason it’s my favorite is because it matches so well with black.  Some fall days it’s freezing and you just don’t feel like wearing a complicated outfit so you wear all black.  When ever I have one of those days I always wear something with a deep color.  Wearing a bright color takes away from your outfit while wearing a deep color compliments to your outfit.

Yes I understand it’s not summer anymore but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear skirts any more.  Right now i love skater skirts.  There high wasted flare skirts.  But instead of wearing a crop top wear a bright print shirt and tuck it in.  This outfit gives you a great shape.

3. Emerald

I LOVE Emerald and it’s not just because of the Wizard of Oz.  Honestly there was a time I was looking for a emerald prom dress.  The reason I love emerald is because the deep dark green brings out the color of your hair because the color is vibrant.
