Aloa Skincare Needs To Be In Your Makeup Bag This Summer

After being on being on Accutane, my skin care is one of the most important parts of my daily routine. Being on Accutane taught me to actually look at the ingredients in the products you use. Let me tell you, many of the products I bought at the drugstore did more harm than good to my skin.
Aloa started with the goal of creating skincare that was natural and as safe as possible. Products that are made from fruits, plants, oils and other natural resources are more effective than other skin care formulas.

The products I tried were Aloe Vera Mist, Berry bomb dry lip defense, and the Hyaluronic Serum. One of the biggest things I look for when it comes to skincare is if it has anti-acne properties. Aloe is great for killing the bacteria that prevents pimples, by tightening pore size.

For people who are in the sun a lot, these products are amazing. They also have anti-aging properties. The mist hydrates the skin by increasing elasticity and minimizes the appearance of dark spots.
The berry bomb is a great necessity to keep in your bag during the summer. It is far better than any other drugstore brands I’ve used, as well as has SPF15.

Lastly, I tried the Hyaluronic Serum. Before trying this I had to look into what that even was. The reason is you should never put products on your skin you don’t know what they are. Hyaluronic Acid holds 1000 times more weight than water, which means it is the perfect moisturizer for your skin. It creates a cushion to help plump the appearance of aging skin through water absorption. For me, this was perfect to use at night after a day out in the sun.

These products are great for people who spend time in the sun or worried about aging and acne. Did you know that guys actually have better skin than women because they moisturize every day when they shave? In my opinion, we should be worried about skin aging from a young age and being very aware of the products we use on our face. Many young people suffer from bad acne, I was one of them, products like Aloa skincare might have helped make my acne less aggressive and helped me have healthy clear skin.

Why You Need To Know About KVossNYC Cosmetics

A few months ago, I totally did not care about organic or natural anything when it came to cosmetics.  Then I went on Accutane, and quickly learned how important it was to look into what your putting on your skin and hair.

I loved finding new organic companies and learning their story on what motivates them to start their business. Being a small business owner myself, I always try to look for female entrepreneurs I can support just by buying their product.

Kristen Voss started her business four years ago in her tiny kitchen in NYC.  When she was younger her mother had skin cancer.  She never went out in the sun, but she was freckled head to toe with red hair.  When her mother was diagnosed with cancer it didn;t make any sense.

Voss started researching all the products she used to understand what was in the products her mother was using. Skin acts more as a sponge than a barrier. For example when you put something on your skin it goes into your bloodstream faster than if someone ate it. She created products to address all unique skincare needs and are made with the highest quality and effective ingredients.

After being on accutane the two things that are the most dry were my legs and my lips, I wanted to find something that would bring back my smooth skin that I had before taking accutane. Therefore I tried her body lotion and lip balm.

My favorite part of the body lotion was it’s label. Whenever you look at a label of lotion in the drugstore their ingredient list is so tiny it’s a little hard to read because they don’t want you to know exactly what’s in it. Her label clearly showed what exactly is in the lotion. This lotion was perfect to put on your legs right after shaving. It was effective in soothing the damage a razer does to your skin.

The second product I tried was her peppermint lip balm. What I loved about this lip balm was it was very light, while still moisturizing your lips. Also, it had the perfect amount of color for a lip balm.

My Morning Routine

Whenever I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is go through social media.  I go through Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook checking up on what’s going on with everyone.  I then make my amazing pick me up smoothie.

DBC Pick Me Up Smoothie Recipe

1 Banana

Iced Coffee

Cocoa powder

Almond milk

Real maple syrup

This is one of my favorite parts of my morning because for me it’s my healthiest way to get my caffeine in the morning.  In my experience, it tastes way better with frozen bananas.  Nothing is exactly measured out, which I love because you can cater it to your taste buds.

Having 8:30’s most mornings, this serves as my normal breakfast if it is a Saturday or Sunday I usually make myself pumpkin waffles, which you can find the recipe here.

Skin Routine

For my skin, I only use a few products.  I start off each morning with washing my skin with Cetaphil which is a gentle cleanser.  Then after I’m out of the shower, I use a simple face lotion called Perfect Day by Formula 10.6.8.

I start off by using Smashbox’s foundation primer.  I love using this because it makes my makeup go really smooth and is easier to blend.

Then I use my foundation which is Revlon Colorstay.  I’ve never used another foundation besides this one, it is great if you have oily skin and need an all day stay.

I then use Maybelline Ageless Concealer.  What I like about this is how well is covers up under eye circles.  It is better to apply your concealer after your foundation, because you end up using less and therefore more money for clothing than concealer.

I finish off by using Rodial illuminating powder.  It doesn’t add any color, but it does help give your face that perfect glowing look.  I finish off with () eyebrow gel and Smashbox XXL mascara (literally best mascara ever).

Every morning I wash my hair with Biotin shampoo.  It’s really great if you have thin hair like me and want to help it grow healthy and thick.  I usually always put something in the ends of my hair after I shower to keep down the frizz.  A great thing to put in your hair and let it dry is rosemary oil from Jade Bloom Oils.  It has a great smell and is great for your hair.

Go to outfits

If I’m super wrapped for time, my most classic outfit is all black. Which I probably wear a little too much of, but I love black so whatever.  If I have a little more time this season I love wearing a dress and a cute pair of tights, match with some thigh high boots.
